| Here's Duncan warming up |
But these are the things you endure so that your child can be part of the team. So that they can play with other children and unite for a common goal. To win the game! Last night's game was against the McLoud Redskins, which is also my alma mater. I was torn. I've grown up saying "GO REDSKINS", and now to be rooting against them, it just seems so un-natural.
Here he is practicing his "air ball"
He's the one with his hands up jumping. Form is very important in basketball. Notice as he jumps, he's still shorter than most of the other kids. His father blames my side of the family for that.
He's number 20. See how closely he is listening to his coach?
"Put me in coach, I'm ready to play"
and this is where he was the WHOLE night. Not even 20 seconds of play time. But you know what? It doesn't seem to phase him. He will practice shooting at home all night long. He will run laps to build stamina. He does everything the "starters" do, because one day, he's gonna get to play!
We lost to the Redskins by 5 points. And if you ask me, it's because my son didn't touch the court. Because I have the BEST Basketball player in the world living under my roof! I'm his personal cheerleader, just ask me, I'll tell ya!
